In The Cat House
My name is
Adele Summers. I live in small town Ontario, about 45 minutes north of
Guelph. My love for
cats comes from when I was a child. I always
had animals around me growing up, but I always favoured
my kittens.
Cats have a wonderful way of making themselves such a necessary part of our
lives. They love
to be patted and stroked and taken care of
just as much as they love to love us back and be the truest of
companions. The Ragdoll Breed is just what that
is all about: Trust, loving personalities, companionship, affection, and
comfort. I have a house full with my husband,
two boys, and of course
my Ragdolls.
The Ragdoll breed will fit into any home that will give time and attention to
them as well as meet their
health needs
and requirements. If you are looking for a long-time companion that will
unconditionally give you their
love and
devotion then the Ragdoll may very well be for you.
A Little About Ragdolls…
The Ragdoll
has been referred to as the gentle giant of the domestic feline world. Their
origin has
A few
versions, but two things are for sure one is a lady named Ann Baker, who
developed the Ragdoll
Into the
breed we know today, and the other is a cat named Josephine from where all
‘Ragdolls’ originate.
Ragdolls have
a sweet, loving personalities and companion-like temperament. Not to mention
their beautiful coat, generous size and
gorgeous blue eyes. They come in three patterns: bi-colour, colour-point, and
mitted.
The bi-colour
ragdoll has darker colour on its face, ears, and tail. What characterizes the
bi-colour is an
inverted ‘v’
on its face. Colour-point ragdolls have darker colour on their paws including
the legs, the face, ears
and their
tail. Lastly the mitted are similar to the colour-point except that they have
white ‘mitts’ on their front feet and taller ‘boots’ on their back legs. All
ragdolls come on four traditional colours: seal, blue, chocolate, and lilac.
A newer
pattern recently accepted by most cat organizations is the lynx pattern. The
lynx pattern does not change the colours
or the basic
patterns of the ragdoll. The ‘lynx’
only adds a striping effect to the face, ears, legs and tail as well
as a white
contrast on the inside of the ears. The ragdoll has many options as far as
colour and pattern go. One who is looking for a new member to their family is
sure to find a kitten that will meet and exceed their wants and expectations
with the Ragdoll breed.
Queens
Champion
Karanchoe’s Tess of Briarshae

Ch.
Karanchoe’s Tess of Briarshae is a lovely seal lynx bi-colour from Karen
Wrobel.
She is a
bi-colour, which lends itself nicely to such a pretty face! Tess has a
wonderful relaxed nature and
A loving personality and loves her treats! Tess easily achieved her ‘champion’ title in
her show rings. Tess periodically gives us some lynx babies: each one as
beautiful and wonderful as their mother!
Thank-you
Karen for our wonderful ragdoll, Tess!
Briarshae’s
Ch. Misty

Briarshae’s Ch. Misty
Misty is one of
our very own ‘born and raised here’ queens. She is a shining
example of a
blue colour point ragdoll. Her loving personality is also exemplary of the
ragdoll breed. She gives us perfect kittens that are
mirrors of her wonderful, affectionate
character and carry
on her well balanced body type and oh-so-soft coat of rabbit –like texture.
Misty has a very playful and inquisitive side to her that each of
her kittens also possess.
